Jamiat Ulama-i-Hind’s central consultative meet begins in Andaman, with focus on workers & youth training and organisational annual calendar
Port Blair, April 13: The eighth central biannual consultative meeting of the presidents and general secretaries of the State and regional units of Jamiat Ulama-i-Hind commenced on Monday at Hotel A.R. Pride Residency in Sri Vijaya Puram, Port Blair, in the Andaman and Nicobar Islands.
The three-day meeting is being held under the leadership of Maulana Mahmood Madani, president of Jamiat Ulama-i-Hind, while the proceedings are being conducted by Maulana Mohammad Hakimuddin Qasmi, the organisation’s general secretary.
The event has brought together presidents and senior office-bearers of the organisation’s State and regional units from across the country. Also present were Maulana Mohammad Salman Bijnori, vice-president of the organisation and senior faculty member at Darul Uloom Deoband, Maulana Qari Mohammad Amin, vice-president, and several other senior central and provincial functionaries.
The consultative meet is being viewed as significant in shaping the organisation’s direction for the coming months, particularly in the areas of organisational strengthening, social outreach, youth engagement and community welfare initiatives.
The first session began at 6 p.m. and was chaired by Mufti Sharafuddin Qasmi, president of the Andaman and Nicobar unit of Jamiat Ulama-i-Hind. The second session was presided over by Maulana Saeed Ahmad, president of the Manipur unit.
In his welcome address, Mufti Sharafuddin Qasmi described the Andaman Islands as a living symbol of India’s freedom struggle, sacrifice and resilience. Referring to the legacy of the Cellular Jail, popularly associated with the “Kala Pani”, he said the islands continue to stand as a reminder of the sacrifices made by freedom fighters.
He said the decision to hold the central consultative meeting at such a historically significant location added meaning to the deliberations and welcomed the delegates from across the country. He further noted that Jamiat Ulama-i-Hind had consistently played a leading role in religious guidance, educational initiatives, social welfare and constitutional advocacy, and continues to remain active in social reform and rights-based interventions across the country.
This was followed by the reading of the minutes of the previous meeting by Maulana Hakimuddin Qasmi. Detailed presentations were then made by the State units, with presidents and general secretaries presenting reports on organisational expansion, educational activities, relief programmes and community services undertaken in their respective regions.
During the evening session, Maulana Mahmood Madani discussion focused on the intellectual and ideological training of young members, leadership development, social service initiatives and strengthening their engagement with the organisation’s mission.
Another key presentation was made on the concept of the “Model Mosque. The presentation emphasised the role of mosques not merely as places of worship, but as centres for social reform, educational awareness, moral guidance and communal harmony.
The upcoming sessions are expected to deliberate on the annual calendar of meetings for local, district and State units, youth training workshops, social reform programmes, specialised training for imams, marriage counselling, the Rafiq Project, the Khair Project, and a Seerat Quiz, besides considering key policy decisions that are likely to shape the organisation’s activities in the coming months.

पोर्ट ब्लेयर, 13 अप्रैल:जमीयत उलेमा-ए-हिंद के तत्वावधान में राज्यीय और क्षेत्रीय इकाइयों के सदरों एवं नाज़िम-ए-आला का आठवां केंद्रीय मशविरा आज अंडमान एवं निकोबार द्वीपसमूह के शहर सर विजयपुरम, पोर्ट ब्लेयर स्थित होटल ए.आर. प्राइड रेजीडेंसी में विधिवत शुरू हो गया। यह तीन दिवसीय केंद्रीय बैठक जमीयत उलेमा-ए-हिंद के अध्यक्ष मौलाना महमूद असअद मदनी की सरपरस्ती और नेतृत्व में आयोजित हो रही है, जबकि संचालन की ज़िम्मेदारी मौलाना मोहम्मद हकीमुद्दीन क़ासमी, महासचिव निभा रहे हैं।
इस महत्वपूर्ण अवसर पर जमीयत के उपाध्यक्ष मौलाना मोहम्मद सलमान बिजनौरी, उस्ताद दारुल उलूम देवबंद, उपाध्यक्ष मौलाना क़ारी मोहम्मद अमीन सहित कई केंद्रीय और प्रांतीय ज़िम्मेदार शख्सियतें मौजूद हैं।
यह मशविरा आने वाले महीनों में जमीयत उलेमा-ए-हिंद की संगठनात्मक दिशा, सामाजिक भूमिका, कार्यकर्ताओं एवं युवाओं के प्रशिक्षण और मिल्ली सेवाओं के व्यावहारिक खाके को अंतिम रूप देने के लिए बेहद महत्वपूर्ण माना जा रहा है।
आज शाम 6 बजे पहली बैठक शुरू हुई, जिसकी अध्यक्षता मुफ्ती शरफुद्दीन क़ासमी, अध्यक्ष जमीयत उलेमा अंडमान एवं निकोबार ने की, जबकि दूसरी बैठक की अध्यक्षता मौलाना सईद अहमद, अध्यक्ष जमीयत उलेमा मणिपुर ने की।
अपने स्वागत भाषण में मुफ्ती शरफुद्दीन क़ासमी ने कहा कि अंडमान द्वीपसमूह केवल एक खूबसूरत क्षेत्र नहीं, बल्कि यह भारत की आज़ादी, कुर्बानी और संघर्ष का जीवंत इतिहास है। उन्होंने कहा कि यही वह धरती है जहां काला पानी की कठिनाइयों ने स्वतंत्रता सेनानियों की कुर्बानियों को इतिहास का उज्ज्वल अध्याय बना दिया। उन्होंने इस ऐतिहासिक स्थल पर केंद्रीय छमाही बैठक के आयोजन को अत्यंत सार्थक और महत्वपूर्ण बताया।
उन्होंने आगे कहा कि जमीयत उलेमा-ए-हिंद ने हमेशा देश की धार्मिक, सामाजिक, शैक्षिक, राहत और संवैधानिक सेवाओं में अग्रणी भूमिका निभाई है और आज भी संगठन पूरे देश में जनमार्गदर्शन, सामाजिक सुधार और अधिकारों की रक्षा के लिए सक्रिय है।
इसके बाद मौलाना हकीमुद्दीन क़ासमी ने पिछली कार्यवाही का वाचन किया, जिसके बाद विभिन्न राज्यीय इकाइयों की कार्य-प्रगति की विस्तृत प्रस्तुति दी गई। विभिन्न प्रांतों के सदरों और नाज़िमों ने अपने-अपने क्षेत्रों की संगठनात्मक प्रगति, शैक्षिक गतिविधियों, राहत कार्यों और मिल्ली सेवाओं की रिपोर्ट प्रस्तुत की।
देर शाम दूसरी बैठक में अध्यक्ष जमीयत ने विशेष रूप से चर्चा की। इस अवसर पर युवाओं के वैचारिक प्रशिक्षण, नेतृत्व निर्माण, सामाजिक सेवा और जमीयत के मिशन से प्रभावी जुड़ाव पर विशेष जोर दिया गया।
इसी बैठक में “आदर्श मस्जिद” विषय पर मौलाना मोहम्मद उमर क़ासमी, नाज़िम तंजीम दक्षिण भारत, ने एक महत्वपूर्ण प्रस्तुति दी। इसमें मस्जिद को केवल इबादतगाह नहीं, बल्कि सामाजिक सुधार, शैक्षिक जागरूकता, नैतिक प्रशिक्षण और सामाजिक सौहार्द का केंद्र बनाने पर विस्तृत चर्चा हुई।
आगामी बैठकों में जमीयत की स्थानीय, ज़िला और प्रांतीय इकाइयों के लिए वार्षिक बैठक कैलेंडर, कार्यकर्ताओं और युवाओं के लिए प्रशिक्षण कार्यशालाएं, इमामों की ट्रेनिंग, मैरिज काउंसलिंग, रफ़ीक प्रोजेक्ट, ख़ैर प्रोजेक्ट और सीरत क्विज़ जैसे विषयों पर विस्तृत चर्चा और महत्वपूर्ण फैसलों की संभावना है, जिससे आने वाले समय में जमीयत की गतिविधियों की दिशा स्पष्ट होगी।
