Jamiat Ulama-i-Hind issues notice to Maulana Badruddin Ajmal Qasmi, seeks reply within 24 hours over alleged alliance with communal party
New Delhi, April 4, 2026: Jamiat Ulama-i-Hind has issued a notice to Maulana Badruddin Ajmal Qasmi, president of Jamiat Ulama Assam, seeking a written explanation within 24 hours over his alleged alliance with, and open support for, a communal political party during the recent election campaign.
In a notice issued by the organisation’s General Secretary, Maulana Hakimuddin Qasmi, it has been stated that the senior leadership of the Jamiat, immediately after Independence, had adopted a clear, principled policy on elections and voting at its historic Working Committee meeting held on August 17 and 18, 1951, under the chairmanship of Maulana Syed Husain Ahmad Madani. The statement added that this policy had subsequently been reaffirmed at several meetings.
According to the organisation, its policy clearly lays down that members and office-bearers of the Jamiat must not maintain any form of association with communal organisations or parties. Instead, they are expected to align only with those political forces that uphold national unity, constitutional values, democratic principles, and the preservation of the country’s plural social fabric.
The notice further states that, contrary to this established policy, Maulana Badruddin Ajmal Qasmi is alleged to have entered into a political alliance and understanding with a communal party during the recent election campaign and to have extended open support to it. The organisation has termed this a clear departure from the policy and foundational principles of Jamiat Ulama-i-Hind.
In this context, he has been asked to submit a written reply to the central office within 24 hours, clearly explaining the objectives, circumstances, and basis on which such a course of action was adopted. The statement further notes that if the response received is found unsatisfactory, appropriate action will be initiated in accordance with the organisation’s rules and constitution.
Reiterating its position, Jamiat Ulama-i-Hind said it remains firmly committed to the principled line laid down by its senior leadership, the protection of constitutional values, and its steadfast opposition to communal politics.

नई दिल्ली, 4 अप्रैल 2026: जमीयत उलेमा-ए-हिंद ने अपनी घोषित सिद्धांतगत और संगठनात्मक नीति के तहत मौलाना बदरुद्दीन अजमल क़ासमी से हालिया चुनावी अभियान के दौरान एक सांप्रदायिक राजनीतिक दल के साथ कथित गठबंधन और खुले समर्थन के संबंध में 24 घंटे के भीतर लिखित स्पष्टीकरण मांगा है।
जमीयत उलेमा-ए-हिंद के महासचिव मौलाना मोहम्मद हकीमुद्दीन क़ासमी द्वारा जारी नोटिस में कहा गया है कि जमीयत ने आज़ादी के तुरंत बाद कार्यकारिणी की ऐतिहासिक बैठक, दिनांक 17 और 18 अगस्त 1951, जिसकी अध्यक्षता मौलाना सैयद हुसैन अहमद मदनी ने की थी, चुनाव और मतदान के संबंध में एक स्पष्ट, सिद्धांतगत नीति को अनुमोदित किया था। इस नीति की पुष्टि बाद की अनेक बैठकों में भी बार-बार की जाती रही है।
नोटिस में स्पष्ट किया गया है कि जमीयत की नीति के अनुसार उसके सदस्यों और पदाधिकारियों के लिए यह अनिवार्य है कि वे किसी भी सांप्रदायिक दल से किसी प्रकार का संबंध, राजनीतिक सहभागिता या समर्थन न रखें। इसके विपरीत, उन्हें केवल ऐसी राजनीतिक शक्तियों और दलों के साथ रहने का निर्देश दिया गया था जो राष्ट्रीय एकता, संवैधानिक मूल्यों, लोकतांत्रिक सिद्धांतों और देश की बहुलतावादी सामाजिक संरचना की रक्षा के पक्षधर हों।
जमीयत के अनुसार हालिया चुनावी अभियान में मौलाना बदरुद्दीन अजमल क़ासमी द्वारा एक सांप्रदायिक दल के साथ राजनीतिक गठबंधन किए जाने तथा उसकी खुली हिमायत किए जाने की बात सामने आई है, जो जमीयत उलेमा-ए-हिंद की घोषित नीति और उसके मूल सिद्धांतों से स्पष्ट विचलन माना जा रहा है।
इसी संदर्भ में उनसे कहा गया है कि वे 24 घंटे के भीतर अपना लिखित उत्तर केंद्रीय कार्यालय को भेजें और यह स्पष्ट करें कि उक्त कदम किन उद्देश्यों, परिस्थितियों और आधारों पर उठाया गया। नोटिस में यह भी कहा गया है कि यदि प्राप्त उत्तर संतोषजनक नहीं पाया गया, तो संगठनात्मक नियमावली के अनुसार उचित कार्रवाई की जाएगी।
जमीयत उलेमा-ए-हिंद ने अपने बयान में पुनः दोहराया है कि वह अपने अकाबिर द्वारा निर्धारित सिद्धांतगत रुख, संवैधानिक मूल्यों की रक्षा तथा सांप्रदायिक राजनीति के हर स्वरूप के विरोध के अपने रुख पर पूरी दृढ़ता के साथ कायम है।
